Fantasy Gathering A dash of wizardry and dragons
NaNoWriMo
Every time November comes rolling into the picture, a lot of excitement grows around NaNoWriMo. I always get a little curious about joining but then I tell myself that I’d write a chapter or two and lose interest. It’s also intimidating to read comments where people say that writing 50,000 words is pretty easy. It […]
Caspar and the Lunar Magic
Everything was perfect. The full moon shone brightly overhead, illuminating the dark woods with a silvery blue hue. Caspar went down to one knee and carefully laid down a handkerchief. He smoothed it out over the grass and squinted to make sure he didn’t smudge any of the markings. Unable to see so well, he […]
SyFy’s Beast Legends – Flop?
I tuned in with a friend and we sat through Destination Truth. A quick summary: Ghosts of Truk Lagoon (Fun Underwater EVP!) and Japanese Kappa Monster. I think Destination Truth has developed a formula to draw us in with a ghost story and then get to a monster. I remember when it was just only […]
Dragons: A Natural History by Dr. Karl Shuker
After seeing Beast Legend’s episode for the dragon, it reminded me that I had a certain book sitting around that contained information about dragons. My father actually spotted this book at some random yardsale one weekend and gave it to me as a surprise. I remember my first reaction was that I loved the dragon […]
Fantasy Gathering on Yuku.com
I know the board is pretty much dead but every time I look at it, I just get the urge to clean it up a bit. I finally did it. python web server I took Yuku’s wysiwyg skin and fixed it up. Fantasy Gathering @ Yuku At least it looks more organized now.
Trick ‘r Treat!
Not quite October just yet but since when does that matter? I gave this movie a chance when I found out that Anna Paquin was in it (TrueBlood, anyone? Good series!) This movie was pretty darn cool. It had that whole Creepshow feeling to it except the stories mingled a bit. It was fun and […]
Beast Legends – Smok
You know, I didn’t really intend on making a comment on every episode but with this episode focused on the development of a fire breathing dragon, I just had to say something! This episode, the team decided to focus on a story in Poland about a dragon named Smok that was killed and his bones […]
Excellent practice.
With the harmony charms tucked in a small leather pouch and safely deposited in his pants pocket, Sajon grabbed the crinkled note from his desk and bid farewell to Caspar on his way out. A quick glance to the crisp blue sky told him that the weather was going to be nice today. “Wait! Master!” […]
Failed balance causes twins…
Caspar brushed his short brown hair back and fought back the urge to sigh. Standing in Sajon’s small library still felt like an invasion of his master’s privacy, a sense of respect instilled into him from the early days when he was first sent to live here from the Clefton Mage School. The wizard cocked […]
Beast Legends on SyFy – Kraken
I wasn’t sure what to expect when I started watching the episode. I think it was a little more special this time because I got to watch it with a friend and we just spent the entire time making comments about what they were doing. Some of it was neat, some of it was surprising, […]
